Vera Voile Presents: The "Metropolitan Aura" Made-to-Measure Silk Gown
Redefine the boundaries of contemporary elegance with the Metropolitan Aura—an avant-garde statement piece designed for the modern woman. Crafted from the rarest heavyweight 4-ply silk in pristine ivory, this gown is a masterclass in architectural structure and "silent modesty."
The Design
The Metropolitan Aura is a testament to minimalist luxury. It features a stiff, stand-away high collar that creates a commanding silhouette and exaggerated wide-tailored sleeves that end precisely at the elbow. The floor-length, sharply tailored skirt ensures impeccable coverage while maintaining a sleek, high-fashion edge. This is not just a dress; it is a structural work of art, complete with a discreetly integrated side pocket for a touch of functional modernism.
The Biometric Fit (Digital Tailoring)
To ensure the precise lines of this architectural design, we utilize a data-driven Digital Fitting process. By combining your specific measurements with our biometric photo analysis, our master tailors account for your unique posture and shoulder alignment. This allows us to draft a singular, custom pattern for you, ensuring the stiff collar and structured sleeves sit with mathematical precision—all without a physical consultation.
Key Features:
Tailoring: Individually drafted using biometric data for a "zero-alteration" fit.
Silhouette: Architectural A-line with a minimalist, floor-length finish.
Neckline: Signature avant-garde stand-away collar.
Sleeves: Exaggerated wide-cut elbow-length sleeves.

Fabric Composition & Care
This garment is constructed entirely from premium natural fibres:
Main Body (Ultra-Heavy 4-Ply Silk): 100% Mulberry Silk.
4-ply silk is the 'gold standard' of bridal fabrics, chosen for its incredible weight, matte lustre, and ability to hold rigid, architectural shapes while remaining breathable.
Inner Lining: 100% Cupro (Bemberg).
A plant-based, silk-like fibre that is anti-static and superior for structured garments, ensuring the gown glides effortlessly over the skin.
Care Instructions: Professional dry clean only. Store on a wide-shouldered hanger in the provided Vera Voile garment bag to maintain the collar’s structure.

Client Measurement Guide: Ladies' Custom Dresses & Gowns
To ensure your gown fits perfectly, please follow these instructions carefully. Important: We highly recommend asking a friend to measure you. Doing this yourself can twist your body and skew the numbers.
Before you start:
Wear the correct undergarments: Please wear the exact bra (push-up, strapless, or standard) and shapewear you intend to wear with the dress. This changes your silhouette significantly.
Stand straight: Do not suck in your stomach or hold your breath.
Wear heels (if applicable): If you plan to wear heels, please have them on for the length measurements.
PART 1: The Circumference (The Round Measurements)
1. Bust Measure around the fullest part of your chest/bust.
Tip: Keep the tape level across your back and ensure it passes over the nipples.
2. Underbust (Crucial for Corset Styles) Measure directly underneath your breasts, right where the bra wire sits.
Why we need this: This ensures the bodice fits snugly against your ribcage.
3. Waist (Natural Waist) Measure around the narrowest part of your torso.
How to find it: Bend to one side like a teapot; the crease that forms is your natural waist. This is usually 1-2 inches above the belly button.
4. Hips Stand with feet together. Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks.
Tip: Move the tape up and down slightly to find the absolute widest point.
PART 2: The Vertical Measurements (Length & Shaping)
5. Shoulder to Nipple (Bust Point) Measure from the top of your shoulder (base of neck) straight down to your nipple.
Why we need this: To ensure the built-in cups or darts sit in exactly the right place.
6. Shoulder to Waist (Front Bodice Length) Measure from the top of your shoulder, over the fullest part of your bust, down to your natural waistline.
Why we need this: To ensure the waist seam sits correctly and doesn't cut across your stomach.
7. Shoulder to Floor (Full Length) Measure from the top of your shoulder, over the bust, all the way down to the floor.
Note: Please wear your intended heels for this. If you are barefoot, please tell us the height of the heels you plan to wear (e.g., "Barefoot measurement is 55 inches + 4 inch heels").
8. Back Width (Shoulder to Shoulder) Measure across your back from the tip of one shoulder bone to the other.
PART 3: Arms & Sleeves (If Applicable)
9. Armhole / Scye Lift your arm slightly. Measure around the top of your shoulder and under your armpit (making a loop).
10. Bicep Measure around the fullest/thickest part of your upper arm.
Tip: Relax your arm; do not flex.
11. Sleeve Length Measure from the edge of your shoulder bone down to where you want the sleeve to end (wrist, elbow, or ¾ length).
A Final Checklist for Success
[ ] Did you wear the right bra? (This is the #1 cause of poor fit).
[ ] Did you measure with heels on? (Or add the heel height to the length).
[ ] Did you measure the "Natural Waist" (narrow part) not the "Low Waist"?
